Project Life Week 16 Special - Birthday spread!:D

Heyyie!! I am back with more inspiration! Unlike the usual 12x12 PL layout, I decided to try something new by playing with the 8.5" X 11" folder! And I did my birthday spread with it! I realised that 80% of my PL folders are dedicated to eating:X Does that account for my recent weight gain?:X HAHA!

Here are the details! I had lotsa fun layering the photos together!:D

Project Life Week 9 & 10!

Heyyie guys! How have you been? Still playing catch up and here's my take on Week 9 & 10 of Project Life!

 photo IMG_7686_zps1455dd84.jpg

Love this rain flower I saw during one of my morning walks at the park! It was just after a drizzle and such flowers bloom in wet weather! How lovely is that when you see them bloom after the rain! And this serves as a reminder for me that whatever life put you through, don't be quick to give up for it may turn out to be a good ending.

And happy that I have taken my last practical exam in university!:D

Mother's Day blog hop - Signed, sealed and delivered!!

Heyyie guys! Welcome to my blog if you are here for the first time! This is so exciting!! :D:D

A group of us from an online Facebook group-SBII decided to come together(quite impromptu) for our first blog hop to celebrate Mother's Day and also to take this opportunity to share ideas and meet more scrappers! And to share our extra stash* ;)

If you are lost or have forgotten who you have visited, here's the sequence:

               Cassandra => That's me!
Genevive

To celebrate Mother's Day this year, I made this layout titled - Signed, sealed and delivered! Here's the gift to my mum!

I wanted to convey a likened feeling of receiving a parcel and that was my inspiration in making this layout! This gift is my way of expressing my thanks to my dearest mum for all her care and concern all these years. I know she would love the print on Crate Paper Maggie's collection, yet I have limited supplies and have no choice but to work with whatever I have! To my pleasant surprise, I managed to use all my scraps from this collection! Again, how I love her collection!!!

Ampersand Tutorial

Heyyie guys!! It's been really a long while since I last blogged or scrapped! It has probably been 1 month? Been really worn out from attachments and so many things happening this month! Thankfully, I got a few days off and am now back on track with my layouts and Project Life!

So for Timeless Twine DT this month, I decided to do up a simple Ampersand (&) tutorial!

 photo IMG_7721_zpsde78e55a.jpg

Materials you may need:
1. Heavy duty board
2. Paper piercer
3. Timeless Twine thread
4. Needle
5. Cardstock
6. Stencil

 photo IMG_7726copy_zps85c65419.jpg

Firstly, use a pencil(this is done in pen for better illustration*) to trace around the stencil or any cuts (Cameo cuts work very well too).

 photo IMG_7731_zpsaf77d66a.jpg

Then, use a needle piercer to pierce through areas around the Ampersand (because the thread will form a straight line,so pierce more holes around the curves to get a smooth coverage).

 photo IMG_7733_zpse565b9ef.jpg

And you are done!:D

A very professional looking Ampersand indeed!:)

Till my next update, take care and God Bless!:)

Thank You for Caring!

Heyyie guys! TGIF! Hope you had a great week! For Timeless Twine DT post today, I made a few Thank You cards to thank the hospital nurses and doctors for their care and patience during my grandma's hospitalisation stay. They have been very supportive and kept updating us on my granny's condition, especially the palliative care team who provided much comfort and pain relief for my grandma.

Using the Hero Arts 'Thank You Card' wood block stamp, I stamped the image on a watercolor paper and painted it with distress inks and some water colour! Love how it turned out!

I used October Afternoon's Sidewalks collection and finish it by using the ever versatile Timeless Twine - Lemonade Yellow, Olive Green and Cherry Red!

Homemade Chocolate Cake!

Heyyie! For the first time, I have decided to upload something non-scrapbook related! That's because I am super proud of the chocolate cake I(single-handedly :P) baked today!:)

Truth be told, I am never a big fan of desserts and never enjoy eating them! However, I love the process of baking! How weird right! It's like cooking and not eating what you cook! But I do certainly find it really therapeutic baking! A good break after my 7 work-day attachment I guess! Taken a toll on me but still able to cope from the fatigue!

So, for KY's 22nd Birthday, I baked a cake following Nigella's Feast Receipe but did quite a bit of changes, especially the icing sugar and sugar in general! Her recipe is WAY TOO SWEET for my liking!

Here's a link if you wanna try:

So now, here's many pictures I took! Sadly, I was in a rush and didn't change the camera settings. Ain't too happy with the shots!:X

For decoration!

Woo I love how sharp this blade is! Because of it, I managed to cut really straight across for the layered effect!
